Outfitters, Kauai's leading zip line company, is under construction with three new zip lines that span an entire jungle valley. These new zip lines will tie into the existing Outfitters' zipline course, passing over three separate waterfalls and will measure between 800' and 1,200'. They are designed to highlight spectacular views and even further ramp up the fun in an already thrilling and exciting adventure. Each one will cut through different scenic environments, such as lengthwise down a slot canyon above a jungle stream bed, or rushing toward the massive black cliffs of the Hau'pu Mountains that peak a staggering 2,000' above the surrounding lands.
These new zip lines are being built with the aid of a professional zip line consultant, an island-based architect, a local pole line contractor and a Kauai helicopter company. Invasive vine and tree species such as Cat's Claw and Java Plum are being removed by an arborist to provide for view corridors, safety clearances, and will make for an improved environment for Hawaiian introduced trees like the Ul'u (breadfruit), and Kuku'i (candlenut).
Outfitters Kauai's owner Rick Haviland is ecstatic about how much fun these new zip lines will be. "We really strive to deliver the 'Big fun in beautiful places,' and I can't wait to get these done. It is so spectacular out here, people are going to just LOVE it!"
Adventure seekers will be able to launch across the valleys on the new zip lines starting this summer. For visitors to Kauai, these zip line tours are a fantastic way to experience Kauai's natural beauty and get a little adrenaline going.

Outfitters Kauai–Kauai's innovative adventure tour leader–announces its first full summer of the Kauai Stand Up Paddle (SUP) Board Tour. This tour, which is the first of its kind in Hawaii, delivers "Big Fun in Beautiful Places" via the newest sensation in watersports. The Surftech epoxy boards that are provided are floaty, stable, and fast. This SUP tour is suitable for both the experienced paddler and the first timer–it's a great way to learn a new sport, or share it with friends or family and get turned on to the coolest new thing going. Think walking on water!
Outfitters Kauai's Kauai Stand Up Paddle Board Tour begins with a short lesson around the calm waters of the Hule'ia River. During the tranquil downwind cruise the adventurers can refine their technique while enjoying the spectacular scenery of the Hule'ia National Wildlife Refuge, ringed by the majestic Hau'pu Mountains.
This new tour also includes a one mile hike through the tropical rain forest of Kipu Ranch, where Raiders of the Lost Ark and Jurassic Park were filmed. This lovely hike leads to the secluded Bamboo Pool, home to the crowd-pleasing WaterZip—a short zip line into a waterfall-fed pool. Lunch is served on the sunny decks above Bamboo Pool. Rather than paddling back to the Outfitters' dock into often brisk tradewinds, an exotic motorized Hawaiian-style canoe ferries the adventurers back up the river as the SUPs are towed behind it.
It is not often that a new sport causes such a commotion like Stand Up Paddle Boarding has in recent years. This fun activity has exploded onto the scene providing hours of entertainment and fitness to paddlers of all ages and abilities. Now Outfitters Kauai combines this exciting new activity with the splendor and memorable beauty of Kauai. For seasoned and experienced travelers who have zip lined, kayaked and "been there, done that," Stand Up Paddle Boarding is fresh and exciting. For new visitors to Kauai, the SUP tour is a fantastic way to experience Kauai's natural beauty. Outfitters' Kauai Stand Up Paddle Board Tour, open this summer to make unforgettable family memories.
