Spend the day paddling deep into the heart of Kauai on Hawaii’s largest tropical river - an easy way to have your breath taken away all day long. The Wailua River is famous for it’s gorgeous scenery and history-rich past. Land your kayak in the rain forest and step back in time as you see the remains of ancient Hawaiian home sites. Hike to a spectacular 100 foot waterfall. Cool off in the refreshing streams, or relax on sun-warmed lava rocks as your guides explain the botanical and historical wonders of this jungle paradise. 24-hour notice is required for cancellation, 72 hours for groups of six or more passengers. 100% penalty charge strictly enforced.
When To Check-In & Tour Schedule
Guests staying at Poipu area or Westside resorts should check in at Outfitters Kauai in Poipu. Check-in for the morning tour is at 7:45am. Check-in for the second tour is at 11:00am. Please note that the second tour is only available seasonally.

Food & Drink
This tour includes a great lunch. Your choice is either a Turkey Watercress Wrap (smoked turkey, watercress, cream cheese, sprouts, cucumber, tomato, onion, and black olives in a tortilla), or a Mediterranean Veggie Wrap (hummus, lettuce, tomato, kalamata olives, cucumber, and feta cheese in a tortilla). Lunch comes with pasta salad and a chocolate chip cookie. Cold drinks are available thoughout the day.
What To Wear & Bring
We recommend you bring a swimsuit, shorts, t shirt, windbreaker or light rain coat, and footwear with aggressive tread for muddy conditions. Either sport sandals with heelstraps, or aqua socks work great. And don't forget a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and a waterproof camera. You can buy these items, or rent sport sandals (as available) at our Poipu shop.

Restrictions For This Tour
You must be able to walk two miles of rugged trail & kayak 60-90 minutes. We'll be in the rainforest, so be prepared for showers and muddy trail conditions. This is our most strenuous river kayak and hiking tour, and is quite a great day, both on the water and in the woods.
