Our Wailua waterfall kayak tour begins as you glide past lush jungle landscapes on Hawaii’s largest tropical river. This is Kauai kayaking at it’s best. You will paddle through the Wailua River State Park deep into the rain forest. Land your kayak and step back in time as you hike past ancient Hawaiian home sites to a breathtaking 100 foot waterfall. Cool off in the refreshing streams or relax on sun-warmed lava rocks before returning to the river to paddle back. Your guides will explain the botanical and historical wonders of this jungle paradise. Guests staying at Poipu area or Westside resorts check in at Outfitters Kauai in Poipu. Check-in for the morning tour is at 7:45am. Check-in for the second tour is at 11:00am. Please note that the second tour is only available seasonally.
For the convenience of our guests staying at Eastside or Northshore locations, special arrangements can be made. Please call for check-in times and locations.
Food & Drink:
This tour includes a great lunch. Your choice is either a Turkey Watercress Wrap (smoked turkey, watercress, cream cheese, sprouts, cucumber, tomato, onion, and black olives in a tortilla), or a Mediterranean Veggie Wrap (hummus, lettuce, tomato, kalamata olives, cucumber, and feta cheese in a tortilla). Lunch comes with pasta salad and a chocolate chip cookie. Cold drinks are available throughout the day.
What to wear and bring:
We recommend you bring a swimsuit, shorts, t shirt, windbreaker or light rain coat, and footwear with aggressive tread for muddy conditions. Either sport sandals with heel straps or aqua socks work great. And don’t forget a hat, sunscreen, bug spray and a waterproof camera. You can buy these items and rent sport sandals (as available) at our Poipu shop.

Restrictions For This Tour
You must be able to walk two miles of rugged trail & kayak 60-90 minutes. We’ll be in the rainforest so be prepared for showers and muddy trail conditions.
