Check-in and Tour Schedule and Info:
Guests staying at Poipu area or West Side resorts check in at Outfitters Kauai in Poipu. Check-in is at 6:00 am sharp.
We drive from Poipu to our launch site near the end of the road on the North Shore. From there we launch our kayaks and paddle to Polihale Beach. There is one landing for lunch and a rest at Miloli’i State Park, which is accessible only by water. Finally, our van will pick us up at Polihale and return us to our Poipu Shop. Consequently, we will have circumnavigated the entire island in just one day.
Typical return time is around 7:00 pm, but can vary quite a bit depending on conditions.
As this tour begins and ends in Poipu, we have the most convenient Na Pali kayak tour departure location for paddlers staying at South Shore locations.
Guests staying on the East or North shores, please call for pick-up information.
Food & Drink:
The Na Pali Kayak Adventure includes a great lunch. Your choice is either a turkey or veggie sandwich with a build-your-own buffet of assorted vegetables, mayo and mustard. Lunch also includes fruit and a delicious fresh-baked brownie. Cold bottled water and Hawaiian Sun fruit drinks are available throughout the day. Guests are encouraged to bring along their own sports drinks or energy snacks to enjoy during the day. No alcoholic beverages, please.
What to wear and bring:
We recommend you bring a swimsuit, shorts, t-shirt , and/or windbreaker or light raincoat, sport-type sandals or aqua socks, waterproof sunscreen, billed hat with keeper, sunglasses with keeper, towel, and waterproof camera. These items can be purchased at our Poipu shop. We also recommend an over-the-counter medicine for seasickness that won’t cause drowsiness (i.e. Bonine). We suggest taking it the night before the tour, as well as the day of the tour. You can rinse off some salt at Polihale before the van ride home, so you may also want to bring an extra set of clothing and extra towel.

This tour is best enjoyed by people who are physically fit and have some basic paddling experience. However, you may join us as a first time kayaker if you are athletically inclined and quick to learn new sports. No children under 15 on this tour please. Of course, this trip is not for non-swimmers.
Warning: If you are prone to severe seasickness this trip is not for you. If you feel that you may get slightly nauseous, we recommend motion sickness medicine such as Bonine, Dramamine, or Triptone (over the counter).
Why Choose Outfitters Kauai When You Visit Hawaii
With Outfitters Kauai, you get the best Kauai adventures in the most exclusive parts of Kauai. We have access to remote areas of the Wailua River State Park, which has very limited access. On the Hule’ia River we are the only group that has permission to use the surrounding private lands of Kipu Ranch. As a result, you have special privileges to leave your kayak or SUP and hike the jungle trails through a valley to secluded pools and waterfalls.
Our tours include more than thrills. All of our guides are experts in local ecology, natural history, culture and legends of Kauai. You’ll learn about the island while enjoying its adventurous side, and get tips on the best places to dine and special places not to miss during your visit.
